Research Interest: Telomeres are higher order nucleoprotein complexes that cap the ends of eukaryotic chromosomes and play important roles in conferring genome stability and cell proliferation capacity. Protection of Telomeres 1 (POT1) is a fundamental component capping and recruiting telomerase to modulate telomerase activity in human. Arabidopsis thaliana encodes three paralogs of the POT1 gene, which is POT1a, b and c. My research goal is to characterize the roles of POT1b under environmental stresses and identify the relationship between POT1b and POT1b-associated telomerase or factors using physiological, molecular genetic and biochemical approaches.
